Current Mood: annoyed

Times article β€œMudslinging Weasels Into Online History” reports on the difficulties Wickipedia had with keeping the Bush and Kerry pages neutral and accurate. This has always been a serious issue with Wiki-based sites in my opinion. They allow anyone to edit the pages. It relies on the honor system in a dishonorable world.

β€œA common defense against persistent β€œvandals” is to simply let them deface as many pages as they wish, knowing that they can easily be tracked and reverted after the vandal has left. This policy can quickly become impractical, however, in the face of systematic defacements born out of anger or frustration.” - link
